Sangiovese Awarded Double Gold

Press Release - August 2020

Baraboo Bluff Winery’s 2019 Sangiovese  Awarded Double Gold at the 20th Annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition

Baraboo winemaker, Fred Quandt, has been entering wines in the Annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition for the past few years, winning bronze, silver, and even gold medals in the past. This year Baraboo Bluff Winery achieved their ultimate goal of earning a coveted DOUBLE GOLD medal for Quandt’s 2019 vintage of Sangiovese. Quandt’s Sangiovese was aged on French oak and has peppery undertones. It is available for sale at Baraboo Bluff Winery. www.baraboobluffwinery.com

Baraboo Bluff wines earning silver medals this year were Pinot Grigio (sold out), Itasca (sold out), and the ever popular The Girlfriend, available at the winery. Bronze medals were awarded to estate wines Petite Pearl and Cloud 9 Prairie Star. The Quandt family also owns a sister winery, Broken Bottle Winery, in Wisconsin Dells. Three of Quandt’s wines made for Broken Bottle Winery also earned bronze medals, Rowdy Red, Gravel Road, and Vino-Yay.
